Meryanne is a Senegalese, West Indian and French cultural entrepreneur. From an award-winning Parisian lawyer, she evolved into a self-taught interior designer and pioneer of boutique hospitality in Marrakech.

​Her contributions have garnered global acclaim, earning her coverage in publications such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Architectural Digest, Forbes, Essence, Black Enterprise, Shoppe Black, Ebony, Vogue, Travel and Leisure, The Miami Herald and Conde Nast Traveler. Meryanne is a passionate public speaker and a dedicated advocate for cultural heritage.

Beyond her hospitality ventures, Meryanne is the mastermind behind development projects including a cutting-edge ecolodge and a visionary cultural campus designed in collaboration with renowned architects.

She serves as ambassador to the Berlin-based Leading Cultural Destinations of the World and to the IBU movement. She served on the board of the Marrakech Biennale, advancing Marrakech as a global cultural hub. Through her hotel, Jnane Tamsna, Meryanne supports initiatives of the Global Diversity Foundation, which champions emerging environmental changemakers.

    Professor & Filmmaker

    Mame-Fatou Niang is a Professor of Global French Studies at Carnegie Mellon University, specializing in Black Geographies, race, identity, and the contemporary African diaspora. She is the Founder and Director of the Center for Black European Studies and the Atlantic, a leading hub for research, dialogue, and innovation on Blackness in Europe and transatlantic contexts.

    Her interdisciplinary scholarship spans literature, visual culture, memory studies, and social critique, with a focus on how Black communities are represented—and self-represent—across national and linguistic borders.

    She is also the International Curator of the FLUP Literary Festival in Rio de Janeiro

  • Claude Grunitzky

    Media Entrepreneur

    Claude Grunitzky is a journalist, editor, and entrepreneur dedicated to connecting global Black cultures. As the founder of TRACE magazine, TRACE TV, and TRUE AFRICA, he has created influential platforms that amplify diasporic creativity and innovation across media and technology. His stellar career is the subject of a Harvard Business School case study, taught for its insights into entrepreneurship, cross-cultural leadership, and global influence.

    Grunitzky is also the CEO of The Equity Alliance, a venture capital firm focused on funding minority-led startups and expanding access to capital for underrepresented founders. Through both media and investment, he continues to build ecosystems that elevate Black voices, talent, and opportunity worldwide.
